Volume XIII, Issue I - July 2019

From: Danielle L. Kirby, Director
Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery

The Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is pleased to announce a training opportunity targeted for executive leadership and management in IDHS/SUPR funded organizations. The training will be offered via webinar and will focus on key components and requirements of the Substance Abuse and Prevention Treatment Block Grant (SABG). The SABG is the method used by the federal government to supply funds to Illinois that assist with planning, implementing and evaluating activities for the prevention and treatment of Substance Use Disorders (SUD). IDHS/SUPR submits the SABG application annually for Illinois and, upon acceptance of funding, commits its funded organizations to follow certain procedures and meet defined requirements.

This webinar is targeted to executives holding leadership positions in IDHS/SUPR funded organizations to promote a better understanding of specific SABG contract requirements and to assist in building effective strategies to meet those requirements. A specific highlight of this webinar will focus on reviewing the regulations regarding priority populations and will include strategies for service design, promotion and delivery. Administrative/operational commitments related to priority populations will also be addressed, including implications related to interim services, wait lists, budgeting, and payroll. An overview of the new online capacity management (CAPMAN) system and requirements for use will also be provided.

We look forward to your participation in this webinar which will be held July 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Please register at https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/3319697583806737933. Please direct any questions to DoIt.SUPRHelp@Illinois.gov.
