The Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR), as established by the Substance Use Disorder Act, provides licensing and funding of gambling treatment services and funding of prevention, and recovery services across the state. IDHS/SUPR also provides training for gambling clinical providers, a public awareness campaign on gambling disorder, a hotline and website for individuals seeking gambling treatment (each of which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), and research/needs assessments on gambling disorder.
IDHS/SUPR completed the first Illinois Gambling Needs Assessment in 2022 to better understand the impact of gambling disorder on and needs of Illinois citizens.
