TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH WORKSHOP
The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is hosting a unique opportunity for providers to attend a free one-day workshop to learn strategies, set goals and develop a plan to implement the Trauma-Informed Approach in their agency. Agencies that have implemented the Trauma-Informed Approach are also welcome to attend this workshop to receive technical assistance to further their efforts.

Following this FREE workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define and describe trauma, the Trauma-Informed Approach and the steps for implementing the Trauma-Informed Approach in their organization.
- Develop a plan, set goals and develop strategies to implement the Trauma-Informed Approach in their organization.
- Receive the tools and resources necessary to sustain the Trauma-Informed Approach in their organization.
Who Should Attend?
The Trauma-Informed Approach includes all members of the organization. Providers from public and private substance use disorder and mental health organizations serving adults, youth and children should attend this training. At least one representative from each area of the organization should attend this training, including, but not limited to the following: (1) Upper and mid-level leadership, such as the Agency Director, Chief Executive Officer and supervisors; (2) Front line staff, such as therapists, case managers, support staff, peer support specialists, financial staff, janitorial staff, kitchen workers, bus drivers, etc. (3) Family and youth representatives (4) Anyone else in the organization that may benefit from this workshop.

About the Trainer
Becky King is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the field of substance use disorders and mental health services for the past 26 years. She has been the Program Administrator for the Utah State Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health providing oversight for statewide women, youth and family programs since 2007. She is serving as the Utah State Opioid Treatment Authority and providing oversight for the Utah State Youth Treatment Implementation and the Utah Opioid State Targeted Response (STR) Grant Projects.
In 2009, Becky was an Associate in the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment National Women's Addiction Leadership Institute then served as a Coach in 2016. Throughout her career, she has provided clinical supervision for social work interns and individuals working toward their clinical licensure. She is currently supervising the Social Work Team for AFI Advanced Care Home Health and Hospice. She has a Bachelor of Music from Brigham Young University (1991); an Associate of Science in Ethnic Minority Health and Human Services (1994); and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Utah (1997).
