PM 03-19-00: Medical Support Rights (TANF, FHP, ACA Adult, AABD, FP)

WAG 03-19-00.

A person who applies for or receives TANF, AABD, ACA Adult, FHP or  Family Planning, automatically assigns to HFS their rights to medical support or other third party medical payments. The assignment includes the client giving up:

• their rights to medical care support or other third party medical payments; and
• the rights of any other person that the client is applying for or receiving benefits for.

The assignment of medical support rights does not apply to Medicare or VA benefits.
