MEDICAL AND NURSING STAFFING SERVICES

The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) would like to thank your organization in advance for reviewing this Request for Information (RFI) and assisting the State of Illinois (State), having an approved budget, in this effort.

The purpose of this RFI is for the IDHS to ascertain from companies that offer medical and nursing staffing services what positions might be offered to the State of Illinois. IDHS wishes to be able to contact companies for information on the cost, experience and availability of these services as needed by hospitals located in the Southern part of the State.

Information is currently being gathered in regards to medical and nursing services for two (2) State-operated hospitals serving civil and forensic patients. These hospitals include:

Alton Mental Health Center

Alton Mental Health Center (AMHC) is a 125 bed psychiatric inpatient hospital that provides intensive 24-hour civil and medium security forensic psychiatric treatment for female and male adults suffering from serious mental illness who reside in Illinois.

Staffing Needs:

  • Up to 12 Full Time Registered Nurses
  • 1 Full Time Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • 1 Full Time Psychiatrist
  • 1 Full Time Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician (Evening Hours)

Chester Mental Health Center

Chester Mental Health Center (CMHC) is a 284 bed psychiatric inpatient hospital that provides intensive 24-hour civil, medium security and maximum security forensic treatment for male adults requiring a greater degree of structure and security.

Staffing Needs:

  • Up to 10 Full Time Registered Nurses
  • 1 Full Time and 1 Part Time Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician
  • 5 Full Time Psychiatrist

Responses to this RFI shall include the following:

  1. Contact information for your organization (i.e., name, address, contact person, phone number and email).
  2. Specific details regarding the staffing services that may be provided and the positions your company may offer IDHS.
  3. The hospitals where services may be provided.
  4. Any specific questions regarding the subject matter of the RFI.*
  5. One (1) bound paper copy of your Response, one (1) electronic copy (suitable for emailing) on CD or USB device (flash drive).

The information you provide may be updated at your discretion at any time. IDHS encourages Vendors responding to this RFI to keep their information current and up-to-date in order that IDHS has the most accurate information as to the availability of staffing options.

Additional information regarding staffing options your company can provide may be submitted in response to this RFI.

IDHS is asking that Vendors send the information when they have it compiled. There will not be a due date as to when the information needs to be submitted to IDHS.

*Only questions emailed to William.Strahle@Illinois.gov will be answered. All questions and answers will be posted as an addendum to the original posting on the DHS Website.

This RFI does not constitute any commitment by the State to follow any particular procurement course of action. This RFI is for informational purposes only and will not result in an award of contract. The purpose of this RFI is to determine what medical and nursing staffing services your company may offer IDHS. Failure to respond to the RFI does not preclude subsequent participation in any procurement process that may be developed as a result of this RFI. Any and all information provided in response to this RFI shall be considered to be the exclusive property of the State and will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law. Any information provided in response to this RFI claimed to constitute a trade secret and/or otherwise claimed to be confidential, proprietary and/or privileged (See section 7(1)(g) of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act 5 ILCS 140/7), must be supported at the time of submission by a detailed statement and written justification, or any such claim(s) shall be deemed waived. Please be advised that the State cannot reimburse any expenses that may be associated with responding to this RFI.
