Community Youth Employment Program (CYEP)
In an effort to address youth unemployment, poverty, and violence in Illinois' most needy communities, the Community Youth Employment Program (CYEP) is a year round grant opportunity that requires a holistic approach to sustained, unsubsidized employment for both in-school and out-of-school youth (16-24). Through a comprehensive individualized case management approach that accounts for the youth's physical, emotional, social, and mental health needs, providers will help youth secure and sustain employment and/or achieve higher education. All youth are targeted for employment: in-school youth - part-time employment; and out-of-school youth -full-time employment. While focusing on sustained employment, youth will also be provided with educational enhancement opportunities and Career Planning that will lead to increased education, economic self-sufficiency, and long-term success.
