The Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health will be hosting three equivalent training opportunities throughout Illinois. This training is offered as three one-day trainings that are conducted several weeks apart. (Days 1 & 2: CRSS Domains. Day 3: CRSS Ethics)

Participants must attend all three days at the same site (north, central or south), but are free to choose which of these sites is most convenient for their attendance. Please read below for training sites and dates.

  • Pre-registration is REQUIRED.
  • Registration forms will be available by April 30th.
  • The training is FREE.
  • Lunch is on your own.

LOCATIONS/DATES:

  • North: June 28, July 26 & Aug. 30 Chicago - Thompson Center
  • Central: June 21, July 19 & Aug. 23 Springfield - Department of Agriculture
  • South: June 14, July 12 & Aug. 16 Mt. Vernon - Mt. Vernon Airport

  • CRSS professionals who wish to increase their skills
  • Individuals interested in pursuing the CRSS credential
  • Supervisors of peer specialists and other CRSS staff

  • Professional Responsibility: Utilizing a wellness-focused approach to recovery
  • Mentoring: Making judgments without being judgmental
  • Recovery Support: Implementing the S.P.I.R.I.T. of motivational interviewing
  • Ethics: How to apply ethics related to our job duties, confidentiality & boundaries
  • CRSS Requirements: How to apply for and maintain the CRSS credential
