The Illinois Commission on the Elimination of Poverty is working to implement a Poverty Elimination Strategy which aims to cut the number of Illinoisans living in extreme poverty in half in a manner consistent with international human rights standards. As we reflect on the advances made over the last year, we seek input from the public. The Commission is requesting testimony related to the progress made by our state in reducing extreme poverty and suggestions for specific policy solutions the state should advance in the coming year to reduce poverty in Illinois. Your input is critical to ensuring the Commission's strategy reflects the needs of those experiencing hardship in our state. Please join the Commission at our upcoming public hearing.
