Every year, the Illinois Department of Human Services, in cooperation with numerous State Agencies and Councils, has hosted the ADA Celebration event in Chicago at the James R. Thompson Center in July to commemorate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
In an effort to coordinate with other local events, DHS in tandem with the state's ADA Celebration Planning Committee will not be organizing an ADA Celebration event this year. To support a successful future ADA Celebration event, the state's ADA Celebration Planning Committee has elected to host the event every other year. Therefore, the next proposed state's ADA Celebration event will be held in July 2013.
