Action Memo: Budgeting - Medical Benefits 2012 Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment
Summary:
Provides information about the central budgeting of the January 2012 Social Security (SSA) cost of living adjustment (COLA) for persons residing in long term care (LTC) or supportive living facilities (SLF).
Provides for a moratorium on LTC and SLF actions for 12/12/11 through 12/16/11.
Due to federal law, provides that the 2012 SSA COLA is not to be used for the months of January, February, and March 2012 when determining medical eligibility for a person who resides in the community under category 91, 92, 93, 94, or 96 or when determining QMB, SLIB, or QI-1 eligibility.
