In the Service Definition and Reimbursement Guide under Psychotropic Medication Monitoring, there is a designation of practice level "Non-APN/Doc". What level of staff is this? Additionally, does a physician assistant qualify as a LPHA?
Answer: The designation of "Non-APN/DOC" means any staff designated by in writing by a physician or advanced practice nurse to provide the Rule 132 service of Psychotropic Medication Monitoring. The staff may be a QMHP, MHP or RSA. A physician assistant does not qualify as an LPHA. They would qualify as another level of staff based on their education and experience and the definitions of staff in Rule 132. (3/1/15)
