PARTICIPATION OF PARENTS
The program should keep parents aware of everything in general. It should advise them immediately of changes of personnel, changes of expenditures in the budget, changes of services, requirements, important dates, meetings, problems, monitoring results, etc. They can do this by sending notes home with the children, in the newsletter, or by other methods.
The program should invite all the parents to meetings and look for ways to offer activities for the parents at the most convenient times for the benefit of all. They should provide transportation and child care.
The program should look for ways to motivate parents to come more often to the center and participate in the activities. Staff persons should greet parents when they enter the school and treat them with respect.
