Objectives This course focuses on the Supervisor's role. Participants will be taught:
  • how to recognize various signs of maltreatment.
  • how to recognize risk factors for staff and individuals that may lead to maltreatment.
  • how to report abuse and neglect according to the law.
  • how to promote positive practices that decrease the likelihood of maltreatment.
  • the components of and their role in, creating and maintaining a trust producing healthy engaging environment.

1 day (6-hour course)

Six (6) hours of Continuing Education Credits are offered for all professional licenses for which the Division of Developmental Disabilities is certified by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to sponsor Continuing Education hours.

QIDPs may also apply this training toward the 12 hours annual continuing education credits requirement.
