The Ligas lawsuit was filed on behalf of adults with developmental disabilities residing in ICFs/DD who choose to move to community-based services or settings and on behalf of adults with developmental disabilities residing at home who are seeking community-based services or settings.
Transition Planning for Ligas Class Members
Am I a Class Member?
See the Class Member Status page to find out if you are a Ligas class member, the criteria for class membership, and how to be included as a Ligas class member.
What are my Rights as a Ligas Class Member?
- You have the right to enroll if you qualify, and you have the right to not enroll or drop out of the class if you you do not wish to receive community-based services.
- If you are approved for community funding under Ligas, you have the right to choose from a menu of community providers and services.
- If you are eligible for funding under crisis circumstances, you have the right to receive services in a timely manner.
Provider Development
We are also receiving questions from providers and potential providers about the need for new development. We estimate that we will be expanding our Waiver capacity by at least 20%. In order to do that, we will need existing providers to expand services and new providers to enroll under the Waiver. To learn more about becoming a provider, or expanding to new programs, please visit:
Becoming A New Developmental Disability Provider or an Established Provider Adding New Services.
For any additional clarification, please contact your local Region Facilitator.
