Program Description
Target
Adolescent mothers age 13 to 22 living in Rockford and DuPage Counties.
Purpose
To delay subsequent pregnancy, monitor consistent and effective use of birth control, enable below post secondary school completion, provide information to help young parents improve parenting skills and cope with social and emotional problems related
to pregnancy and parenting and to ensure the teen and her child are healthy and prepared for school, GED, tutoring services.
Services
Participants receive research-based parenting curricula on:
- Parenting skills
- Child health and safety
- Career education
- Homelessness prevention
- Budgeting and
- Referrals to community resources
Delivery Method
Services are delivered via weekly parenting groups and special events.
