An Alternative to Corrections Program
What is UDIS?
The Unified Delinquency Intervention Services (UDIS) program provides services to youth between the ages of 13 and 17 who are at risk of placement into the Department of Corrections. The purpose of the UDIS program is to divert delinquent youth from further involvement in the juvenile justice system by engaging them in pro-social behavior and working to re-integrate them in their families, schools and communities.
Youth are referred for UDIS program eligibility by the youth's probation officer. The program provides intensive, community-based services over a period of approximately six months. Each youth is assessed by the UDIS provider, and an intervention plan is developed and services are provided based on the individual needs of the youth. Core services include individual and group counseling; family therapy; 24-hour crisis intervention; life skills training; court advocacy; community resource linkage; and case management.
Who is Served?
Males and females ages 13-17 years of age who have two adjudications or have committed an extremely serious offense for which the youth could be committed to the Department of Corrections.
