The Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service (Serve Illinois) is a 35-member, bi-partisan board appointed by the Governor. Its mission is to improve Illinois communities by supporting and enhancing volunteerism and community service. The Commission is accomplishing this mission through the support of volunteerism, and the administration of programs funded by the federal Corporation for National and Community Service.

Serve Illinois offers a variety of volunteerism and national service resources to the public at no cost, including:

  • SERVE Illinois, the ICVCS quarterly newsletter
  • Volunteer Recognition certificates signed by the Governor, IDHS Secretary, and Commission Chair
  • Volunteer Administration materials
  • National Service materials
