Positive Youth Development

The Bureau of Positive Youth Development is comprised of programs that address primary prevention and also share these characteristics:

• community-based services
• use similar approaches (e.g. after-school programming)
• target similar age groups (e.g. youth)
• target multiple domains (e.g. youth, parents)
• target universal and selected populations

The following programs are administered by the Illinois Commision on Volunteerism and Community Service:

• AmeriCorps
• AmeriCorps/Disability Outreach - The ICVCS is creating a focus of effort on integrating persons within special need populations to the national and community services family of programs.
• Traditional Volunteerism

Other programs administered by the Bureau of Positive Youth Development include: 

• Community Youth Services Programs (CYS)
• Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL)
• Partnerships for Success (PFS)
• Substance Abuse Prevention Program (SAPP)
• Teen Pregnancy Prevention - Primary Program (TPP-P)
