Medical Assistance Programs are designed to provide Illinois' families access to quality health care.
What services are available?
Medical Assistance Programs are administered through the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS).
General Qualifications
In general for medical assistance a person has to be either:
- Blind, Disabled or Aged (65 or older), or
- have children under the age of 19, or
- be pregnant.
They must also meet financial eligibility criteria, residency requirements and in most cases must be citizens (except for children).
