This sub-topic describes the TARs used to SWAP between:

  • TANF Cash and Family Assist, FamilyCare Assist, All Kids Assist, or Moms and Babies;
  • RRA Cash and RRA Medical; or
  • Medical Only and Cash.

If FS are authorized on the same Form 552 and the unit remains eligible for FS, they will continue on the Medical Only or Cash case. If the unit is also ineligible for FS for the same reason, the TAR also cancels FS benefits. For complete information on the effect of a SWAP on Food Stamps, see PM 18-04-11 and WAG 18-04-11.

The FCRC must send all the notices for SWAPS (TA 81 or TA 82). For cancellations, see WAG 27-33-01-n.

Terms Used in the "Reason for Swap" Box

  • The acronym LMDD means Last Medical Determination Date.
  • When a Reason box shows Cash, it applies to both TANF Cash and RRA Cash, unless it says otherwise.

NOTE: When a TAR calls for the entry of a 6-digit date, enter the date:

  • in REMARKS (Box 85 = mm/dd/yy) on Form 552 for IPACS, or
  • on the Action to Be Taken Screen for ACM.

Swap From Medical Only to Cash (TA 81, TA 82)

To SWAP a case from Medical Only to Cash, enter the correct opening TAR (see WAG 27-33-01-d). One of the following closing TARs is centrally entered on the Medical closing.
