Clients are eligible to receive supportive service payments to enable them to take part in the SNAP E & T program. Payments can be
issued prior to performing the activity. The case must be active for the effective month of the payment. These payments are exempt when determining eligibility and benefit amount.
SNAP E & T participation is not required if:
- supportive services are needed for effective participation, but are not available from DHS or some other source; or
- the client's monthly supportive service expenses are more than the maximum amount allowed or more expensive than a less costly activity in the same component.
