  1. (FCRC) Figure the number of weekly participation hours.
    1. Combine countable hours for multiple Pay-After-Performance activities. 

      Example: Ms. A must have 23 hours per week in Pay-After-Performance activities. She is assigned to 20 hours per week at a work assignment. Ms. A needs 3 more hours to meet her Pay-After-Performance hour requirements. She participates in a Community Service for 3 hours each week. Use Activity code 211 to cover both of these activities.

    2. Add the number of countable Supplemental activity hours to the total in Step #1a.

      Example: Ms. A (from the previous example) is taking GED classes for 3 hours each week. Use Activity code 211 to cover this activity also. 

    3. Add any hours of work preparation time and/or study time to the total in Step #1b.

      Example: Ms. A (from the previous example) is allowed 5 hours per week of work preparation time because she participates in a work assignment. She is also allowed 3 hours per week study time for the GED classes. 

  2. Update the Service Plan in VCM or enter the total of countable Pay-After-Performance hours, Supplemental hours, work preparation time, and study hours in the Weekly Participation Hours field for code 211.

    Example: From the previous examples, enter 34 hours:

    20 hours - work assignment
    3 hours - Community Service
    3 hours - GED classes
    5 hours - work preparation time
    +3 hours - study time
    34 hours = code 211 

    1. If the only activity in which the client participates is a noncountable activity, enter zeros in the Weekly Participation Hours field for code 211.

      Example: Ms. S is approved by the LOA (or designee) to participate in an intensive mental health outpatient treatment program as her sole Work First activity for 30 hours per week. Enter zeros for the weekly participation hours for Work First Activity code 211 since this mental health activity is a noncountable activity.

  3. Enter approved noncountable activities separately using their unique activity code.

    Example 1: From the previous example, enter Mental Health Activity code 788 with 30 hours. In the Service Plan in VCM select Mental Health as a separate activity and enter the hours.

    Example 2: Ms. W must have 30 hours per week to meet her Pay-After-Performance hourly requirement. She performs Community Service for 20 hours each week as part of her Pay-After-Performance assignment. She is also approved by the LOA (or designee) to participate in an anger management program for 10 hours each week as part of her Pay-After-Performance hourly requirement. Community Service is a countable activity. Enter Work First Code 211 with 20 hours. The anger management program is a noncountable mental health activity. Enter Mental Health Activity Code 788 with 10 hours on Form 552 or select Mental Health as a separate activity in the Service Plan in VCM.
