At application, each REDE, when adding a person to the case, and when a change is reported, determine the client's status and enter or change Item 73, if needed. If more than one status code is appropriate, use the code for the status that will
probably last the longest. If a family care barrier exists, always enter code M or Q to stop the TANF counter. If a Domestic Violence Exclusion exists, always enter code N to stop the TANF counter.
Example: CAU has determined Ms. J is needed in the home to care for her 4 year old disabled son. She also has a 6 month old baby. Use code M for Ms. J to care for her disabled son.
The Family Community Resource Center receives a turnaround Form 552 when the Item 73 code is changed.
