Each person over age 15, and a parent of any age, has a code to show their status in work, training, or other self-sufficiency activity. These codes show whether the client is exempt, has a barrier, or is doing certain activities.
Enter the correct status code when:
- approving or reviewing eligibility for TANF benefits; or
- adding the person to an existing TANF case.
When a client's status changes, immediately change the status code in the computer system.
When a client is placed in a work, training, or other self-sufficiency activity, enter additional coding to show which activity the client participates in and to generate any automated supportive service payments, when applicable.
