Continue to pay for a client's care for up to 30 days from the date the client was notified that:

  • the facility is terminated from the Medicaid program; or
  • they need a different level of care than is available in the current facility.

Stop payment 30 days after notification by DPH (HFS for an SLF) that a facility has lost its license or certification.

To continue receiving payments after the 30 days, the client must transfer to another facility that provides appropriate services. The client (excluding an SLF client) may request continued payment because the transfer would endanger the client's life.
