When DPH (HFS for SLF clients) decides that residents need to be transferred in an emergency, DPH (HFS for SLF clients) takes lead responsibility. The Bureau of Long Term Care (BLTC) assists as needed.
Applications from persons involved in an emergency transfer receive priority processing. Prior approval for medical transportation is not needed. Payment for transportation is made following regular procedures. See PM 20-22-00 for medical transportation payment.
