Long term care (LTC) and supportive living facility (SLF) clients usually receive benefits under the AABD program. In some instances TANF and GA clients may also receive LTC or SLF services:
- A TANF client can be in a facility for up to 3 months and stay in the TANF case. If care is needed for more than 3 months, the client must be removed from the TANF case and, if eligibility requirements are met, an AABD case must be established.
- A GA client in an LTC or SLF facility for up to 6 months is treated like an AABD client. If care is needed for more than 6 months, prior approval is required from the Bureau of Long Term Care. Long term care is not covered for GA-TA clients
if the care is provided by a hospital.
