The restriction takes effect with the next month that could be affected.
The initial restriction period lasts for at least 4 full quarters. (Quarters are: January - March, April - June, July - September, and October - December).
Example: A client restricted to a primary care provider starting with the May 2013 coverage month is restricted for 4 full quarters, starting July 2013 through June 2014.
The restriction follows a client who changes assistance units. The restriction continues for clients who become inactive and then are reinstated within 24 months, even if they are in a different case.
Clients who were previously restricted and have again been found to be abusing medical services can be restricted for an additional 8 full quarters.
