Good cause reasons for not appearing for a REDE include (but are not limited to):

  • death in the family;
  • illness or incapacity of the client or child(ren);
  • family crisis;
  • unexpected emergency;
  • breakdown in transportation;
  • inclement weather;
  • a conflict in the client's work schedule; or
  • a conflict in a client's appointment or participation in a work and training activity, Young Parents Services, or Child Support Enforcement.

If a client has a job and their work hours conflict with the Department's office hours, make special arrangements to complete the REDE without requiring the client to miss work.
