For an active Medical case when adding or deleting FS, use TA 40 to transfer the case between Group 00 and Group 22.
Adding FS to an Active Medical Case
(FCRC) When adding FS to an active Medical case, transfer the case to Group 22.
(System) Displays the following message in IPACS and ACM when FS are added to a Medical case and the group number is not changed from 00 to 22:
TRANSFER TO GROUP 22 REQUIRED.
Deleting FS from an Active Medical Case
(FCRC) When deleting FS from an active Medical case, transfer the case from Group 22 to Group 00.
(System) Displays the following message in IPACS and ACM when FS are deleted and the group number is not changed from 00 to 22:
CASE WITHOUT FOOD STAMPS MUST BE IN GROUP 00.
NOTE: IPACS and ACM do not allow a transfer from Group 00 to Group 22 or from Group 22 to Group 00 if the 2 groups do not have the same effective month.
Central Transfer of Cases From Group 22 to Group 00
(System) Reviews each Medical/FS (Group 22) case each month at Group 22 cut-off to identify and transfer cases to Group 00 when the FS approval period has expired.
Completes a TA 40 transaction to transfer a case from Group 22 to Group 00 for the following month when the following conditions are met:
- Item 15 is coded with a dash or a 3; and
- the case has not received FS benefits (Mercury or regular roll) for 2 months; and
- the case does not have an FS application pending.
Generates a turnaround Form 552 for each case transferred from Group 22 to Group 00. The turnaround Form 552 has the following message in Item 93:
TRANSFER TO GROUP 00 - NO FS ACTIVE ON 552
Group 22 Case Without FS - No FS Application Pending
(System) Transfers the case to Group 00 when the FS approval period has ended, and no FS benefits have been authorized for 2 months, and there is no FS application pending.
Example: Mr. K has an active Medical case in Group 22. His FS approval period ended in 06/00 (no FS for 07/00 or 08/00). At Group 22 cut-off for 09/00, the system reviews his case and sees that the case meets the
criteria for transfer to Group 00. The system transfers the case to Group 00 for effective 10/00.
