Reopen an initial SNAP application without requiring a new application when:

  • the SNAP unit provides missing verification or takes required action by the 60th day after the application date.
    • If the applicant cooperates by the 30th day, reopen to the original application date, and prorate benefits from the date of application.
    • If the applicant cooperates after the 30th day but by the 60th day, reopen the application and prorate benefits from the date of cooperation

Note: Do not reopen an application that was denied on the 30th day due to missed interview. A new application must be completed.
