WAG 15-04-04-e: Veterans Benefit Disregard (Nursing Home)

PM 15-04-04-e.

1. Verify income (see WAG 08-02-00).
2. Refigure the nursing home credit amount starting with the first calendar month in which VA checks are limited to $90.
3. When a veteran or his/her surviving spouse applies for AABD MANG and the VA check has been reduced to $90, process the application through IPACS.
4. Enter the deduction for the $90 Veterans Benefit Disregard on HFS 2500. Do not allow as a deduction the $30 NH Standard for these persons.
5. Send the HFS 2500 with the approval notice.
