WAG 14-06-01: Minor Parent Who Meets Live-At-Home Policy

PM 14-06-01

1. (FCRC) Contact the parent, legal guardian, adult relative, or the adult who provides supervision in an adult-supervised group home.
   1. Make the contact by phone, if possible.
   2. Explain the minor parent live-at-home requirement.
   3. Ask the adult if they will agree to be the RPT payee for the minor's TANF Cash benefits.

      NOTE: If the adult refuses to be RPT, leave the minor parent as payee for the case. 

   4. If the adult agrees to be RPT, send them Representative Payee for Teen Agreement (Form 3606) and a  return envelope.
   5. If the adult cannot be reached by phone, send them Form 3606, a return envelope, and Form 3605 to explain the minor parent live-at-home requirement.
2. (RPT) Returns completed and signed Form 3606.

   NOTE: If a completed Form 3606 is not received, leave the minor parent as payee for the case. 

3. (FCRC)  Document how the live-at-home requirement was met.
   1. (Intake) Complete the Minor Parent Live-At-Home screens.
   2. (IM) Complete Minor Parent Live-At-Home Verification (Form 3604).
4. (FCRC)  Assign the adult as RPT for the case of the minor parent, if applicable (see WAG 14-07-02).
   1. (AIS) Automatically codes Item 20 of the Form 552 to show how the requirement was met.
   2. (IM) Enter one of the following codes in Item 20 of the Form 552:
      • 01 -Living with parent, adult relative, or legal guardian
      • 02 -Living in an adult-supervised home, such as a maternity home
