Verify allowable medical expenses exceed $35 and determine whether the SNAP unit is entitled to the $485 or $245 standard.

Code $485 in the Amount column for Item 80 code TME and a G in the Supplied By for residents of Group Homes/SLFs. Code $245 in the Amount column for Item 80 code TME and a S in the Supplied By for all other SNAP units.

Using Actual Medical Expenses Instead of a Standard Medical Deduction

Add the total allowable medical expenses incurred by the qualifying member together. Include cents for the individual expenses. After the individual expenses are totaled, drop cents.
