A person is exempt from SNAP E & T if found to have a temporary incapacity. A finding of temporary incapacity is based on medical evidence of an injury or illness serious enough to prevent the person from working. CAU makes its decision based on a statement from a doctor or other medical provider.

Minor illnesses and injuries such as, colds, broken fingers, or rashes are usually not a reason to exempt a client.
