Verify blindness or disability for residents who receive SSA or SSI for reasons other than blindness or disability. For example, a resident may be receiving old age or survivors benefits, which does not verify blindness or disability.
Acceptable proof of blindness or disability includes:
- records of blindness or disability from a medical source such as, but not limited to, clinic, hospital, physician, or social service agencies, or
- records of the group home showing blindness or disability.
Document in the case record the source used to verify the blindness or disability.
