The Bureau of Policy Development notifies the FCRC when a treatment facility is disqualified from the SNAP program by USDA. When a facility is disqualified, its employees cannot act as an authorized representative.
Residents of a disqualified facility do not qualify for SNAP benefits while living in the facility, and outpatients cannot use their SNAP benefits at the facility.
When a facility is disqualified, the FCRC must:
- cancel each resident's SNAP case; and
- send each resident a notice that says why their SNAP benefits are canceled and the effective date (a 10 day timely notice is not required).
