Include no more than 2 of the following adults in a TANF case:

  • The caretaker relative (see PM 03-05-00 and PM 16-01-01).
  • The parent of an eligible child in the case.
  • The spouse of the caretaker relative.

A TANF case can never include more than 2 eligible adults. Parents must be included before optional persons.
