The first day of the processing timeframe is usually the calendar day following the date of application. There are 2 times when this is not true:
- When a SNAP application is received from an SSA office, the first day of the expedited timeframe is the calendar day after the day the application is received in the Family Community Resource Center.
- When a resident of a public institution applies for SSI and SNAP before their release, the first day of the expedited timeframe is the calendar day after the date of release.
Make sure expedited SNAP benefits are available to eligible units no later than close of business on the 5th calendar day after:
- their application date; or
- the date you learn they qualify for expedited services.
