Long Term Care
Complaints that indicate the resident's life or safety is in danger are investigated within 24 hours of receipt of the complaint. All other complaints are investigated within 7 days after receipt.
DPH informs the person making the complaint (if known) and the facility of its findings within 10 days of its determination. If not satisfied with the determination, the person making the complaint or the facility may choose to request a hearing within 30 days after the mailing of the determination.
Supportive Living Facility
HFS must investigate all reports of suspected abuse or neglect within 7 days. HFS will tell the facility of the results of its investigation. The facility has 30 days, from the date of notification by HFS, to request a hearing if they disagree with the HFS decision.
