Bureau of Prevention Services

Helping Families. Supporting Communities. Empowering Individuals.

Substance Use Prevention services are within the Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR). We are working on building this page which will include all the substance use prevention programs that are funded through SUPR's Bureau of Prevention Services and other substance use prevention information. Come back and explore the page often as we continue to add more information. This page will be devoted to all things prevention including programs, links to more specific evidenced based prevention resources, model programs and best practices. For questions, please contact Vanesa Villa at Vanesa.Villa@illinois.gov.

A public awareness campaign is in development to share factual information about the impact of marijuana on health for youth and pregnant/breast-feeding women, safety, and general information on the new law in Illinois. A campaign website with content and resources supporting the campaign objectives is projected to go live the week of December 16, 2019 and accompany media distribution by December 30, 2019.
