SFY 2019 GRANT FUNDING AWARDED FOR TWO PILOTS TO EXPAND ACCESS TO MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (A-MAT)

The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is pleased to announce the results of the competitive bidding process that will result in $1,000,000 of Opioid State Targeted Response funds for two (2) Access to Medication Assisted Treatment (A-MAT) Pilots. Through these pilots, a Hub and Spoke model will be implemented in areas of Illinois that currently have relatively few treatment resources for persons with Opioid Use Disorders (A-MAT "deserts"). These awards are pursuant to Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) 19-444-26-1693-01.

The organizations that will each receive $500,000 grant funds are:

Centerstone of Illinois

West Frankfort, Illinois 62896
Angela.manns@centerstone.org

Family Guidance Centers, Inc.
2618 Patriot Boulevard, Suite B
Glenview, Illinois 60026

Centerstone of Illinois will be targeting services to counties surrounding Marion, Illinois including Williamson, Johnson, Franklin, Saline, Jackson and Union.

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. will be targeting services to counties surrounding Springfield, Illinois including Sangamon, Christian, Morgan, Logan and Mason.

These pilot projects will build a foundation for community providers and partners to create a network of services that will be sustainable following the initial grant funding period. The Hub and Spoke Model is recognized as an evidence-based regional approach for delivering A-MAT to people who suffer from opioid use disorders. This approach is designed to coordinate opioid use disorder treatment with medical care and counseling, supported by community health staff and services, and effectively treat the whole person as they make their way along the path to recovery.
