FISCAL YEAR 2019 RATE INCREASE FOR SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT

The Secretary of the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS), James Dimas, and the Director of the Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR), Danielle Kirby, are pleased to announce that Governor Bruce Rauner has signed Public Act 100-587 which includes a provision for a SFY2019 rate increase for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment services. This act requires IDHS/SUPR to provide a 3% rate increase to all IDHS/SUPR funded SUD treatment services effective 7/1/2018.

As a result, these rates have been revised and will be incorporated into the FY2019 DARTS and included in the updated IDHS/SUPR Contractual Policy Manual, to be posted at http://www.dhs.state.il.us/page.aspx?item=29747.

The increase to substance use disorder treatment rates will also require a 3% adjustment to SFY2019 initial global awards for SUD treatment. Once the initial SFY2019 awards are posted to the Illinois Office of the Comptroller website, IDHS/SUPR anticipates that adjustments will likely be approved and processed mid-to-late August 2018.

We are happy to share this good news and as always, appreciate your commitment and dedication to the provision of quality substance use disorder treatment services.

Please direct any questions about the rate increase or contract adjustment to your IDHS/SUPR contract manager.
