DHS must provide someone to interpret in designated counties and migrant counties during the migrant season. That person must be available to assist SNAP units whose adult members speak only Spanish.
NOTE: The Illinois Migrant Council (IMC) provides these services in migrant counties during the migrant season.
All DHS employees who initially represent the agency to a SLU must be aware of the rights (listed in this section) provided SLUs by DHS. Each Family Community Resource Center must have written procedures for communicating in Spanish with SLUs. FCRC staff must be aware of
and follow these procedures when dealing with a SLU.
