Work, training, and other self-sufficiency activities help persons applying for and receiving TANF develop work goals and job skills. These skills help needy families with children to become self-sufficient in the shortest time possible.
All instructions in PM 21-01 through PM 21-05 are for those staff who approve an applicant's or client's participation in work, training, and other self-sufficiency activities as part of the Responsibility and Services Plan (RSP) and monitor their
participation. This includes contractors and other persons providing case management services who are not employed by the Department, except where Department staff are specified.
