When a facility receives an incorrect payment, the Family Community Resource Center begins the process to adjust a future payment (see WAG 20-08-15-f). The adjustment is processed centrally. A facility can request an adjustment only after a payment has been made.

Do not start an adjustment if both of the following are met:

  • the client would owe the facility an additional amount for the period covered by the incorrect payment; and
  • the Family Community Resource Center made a mistake during intake in the initial eligibility determination.

When a facility's per diem rate is changed retroactively, the adjustment is handled centrally.
