revised textAn active cash or AABD Medical case is converted to EZ REDE status when earned income is budgeted.  If necessary the approval period is centrally changed as follows:

  • If 8 or more months remain in a unit's 12-month approval period, the expiration date is shortened by 6 months.

    Example - 8 or More Months Remain

    Ms. Jones reports employment, and earnings are budgeted starting March 2008 . Her SNAP approval period ends October 2008. The case is converted to EZ REDE status and the approval period is shortened to August 2008. 

  • If 7 months remain in a unit's 12-month approval period, the expiration date is shortened by 1 month.

    Example - 7 Months Remain

    Ms. Cole reports employment and earnings are budgeted starting March 2008. Her SNAP approval period ends September 2008. The case is converted to EZ REDE status and the approval period is shortened to August 2008. 

  • If 6 months or less remain in the approval period, the approval period is not changed.

    Example - 6 Months or Less Remain

    Mr. Evans reports employment, and has the earnings budgeted starting November 2008. His SNAP approval period is March 2008 through February 2009. The case is converted to EZ REDE status and the approval period is not changed. It continues to run through February 2009. 

A SNAP unit in EZ REDE Status is only required to report changes of income that exceed the unit's Gross Income Limit.
