Beginning in the 6th month of the first enrollment period, the system performs a monthly review of AABD Community Spenddown cases which do not have a QMB member. If spenddown has not been met in one of the last 3 months, the case is canceled by the system unless the person is enrolled in the Pay-In Spenddown program or is on a waiting list to receive a transplant. A notice is sent before cancellation informing the client:
- that enrollment/eligibility is ending and
- that if medical benefits are needed, they must reapply and verify income and other eligibility factors (if necessary).
