WAG 18-04-00: Changes in the SNAP Unit

Give each SNAP Unit Reporting Changes - SNAP (Form 2777) when they apply for benefits. Tell SNAP units not in EZ REDE status to report changes within 10 days.

Send each SNAP unit not in EZ REDE status a Change Report Form (Form 1978) and areturn envelope at time of approval.

When a SNAP unit receives a cash benefit from DHS and the amount changes, make corresponding changes in the SNAP case. The SNAP unit does not have to report changes in DHS cash benefits.

Complete SNAP Eligibility Work Sheet (Form 683A) for all reported changes. See
WAG 18-04-09.

Complete Housing Arrangement - Change of Address Worksheet (Form 2467) for changes of address and related changes in housing costs.
Get the following information:
rental cost at new address;
utility expenses at new address; and
change in who lives together, if any.
File Form 2467 in case record.

Determine the amount of benefits to be provided by completing SNAP Calculation Sheet (Form 683B). For a case processed through ACM,
save the ACM SNAP calculation to Content Management.

If a person being added to the SNAP unit has to meet the work requirement, explain the work requirement and issue SNAP Work Requirement Fact Sheet (Form 3674). If they indicate that they now do or want to do volunteer community work, issue Volunteer Community Work Information (Form 3673) and explain use of the form.

Sends Form 157C to the SNAP unit if the change means less benefits within the approval period (see
PM 01-06-03
).

Prepare and mail Response to Reported Change--SNAP Program (Form 1988) to the SNAP unit if benefits will increase or will remain the same as a result of the change and the case is not in EI REDE status.

File an overpayment against the unit (see
PM 23-02-02
) or authorize past month's benefits if:
prompt action was not taken by the FCRC on a change,
and/or
amount of the SNAP benefits was incorrectly computed.
