The income standard for a resident of an SLF is called the SLF Standard and is based on whether the person shares a room. For an SLF resident who does not share a room, the SLF Standard is the SSI rate for a single person. For Revised text2014, this amount is Revised text$721 for a resident who shares a room, the SLF Standard is 1/2 of the SSI rate for a couple. For Revised text2014, this amount is Revised text$541.

Beginning the first full month that a person is an NH or SLF resident, determine medical eligibility separately from any person who remains in the customer's home. Do not apply the income or resources of the persons in the home to the needs of the resident.
